Heavy Yard Gate with Steel Frame
Terry mortising the stiles. As we can see Terry really enjoys rounding off the tops of the stiles. We can start to see as we layout the frame prior to gluing and doweling the frame is square and the joints are tight.

We see the wooden frame assembled and treated. Time to weld the frames to fit the new wooden gate. Last in the line hanging the frame to paint.

Above we see Terry drilling and bolting the frame onto the wooden gate. The 10 inch square posts just having had there final coat of preservative. Sarah is lending a hand with her artisitc flair and blacking the coach bolt heads.
Out with the old in with the new. The old stone gate post pops out ready to go in the garden. Getting the posts in the hole of the correct depth is essential and as we can see is quite a job. Terry like’s to check the quality at every stage and really gets stuck in.
First pass the post. Well hung never fails to please. Closed and touched up, magnificient pair hanging firmly. At the end of a long day, it’s good to see the back of them.
